Privacy policy

FixMyKitchen does not require an account to use, does not sell email lists, and does not maintain a profile of individual visitors on our own infrastructure. This page describes what we do collect, why, and how to opt out where applicable.

What we collect

Like every web server on the public internet, our origin server logs basic request metadata: the IP address of the requesting client, the URL and HTTP method requested, the response status code, and the user agent string. We retain these logs for a maximum of 30 days for the sole purpose of debugging outages and detecting abuse (for example, scrapers that ignore robots.txt). Server logs are not used for advertising targeting and are not shared with any third party.

We do not use first-party tracking cookies. We do not implement a fingerprinting layer. We do not have an analytics product that follows users across pages.

Advertising

FixMyKitchen displays third-party ads in the slots marked on each page. Ad networks set their own cookies and may use those cookies for ad personalization in accordance with their own privacy policies. You can opt out of personalized ads from most major networks at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com. Ad slots are intentionally clearly marked in the HTML source as ADSENSE_HEADER, ADSENSE_IN_CONTENT, ADSENSE_SIDEBAR, and ADSENSE_FOOTER so that ad blockers and accessibility tools can identify and remove them deterministically.

Outbound links

Every "Read online" and "Download PDF" button on a manual page sends the visitor to archive.org, which has its own privacy policy. We do not pass your IP, browser fingerprint, or any other identifier to the Internet Archive — your browser simply requests the file directly from them. Their privacy policy applies once you click through.

Children

FixMyKitchen is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from minors. The site is a reference library for adults trying to find appliance manuals.
